Find out what it is and how to avoid the Federal Revenue tax grid in your company.
The fiscal grid is the cross-referencing information from the IRS between the data you have and those sent by individuals and companies regarding payments and receipts. It is also known as a "punishment" to the companies and people that configure some inconsistency on your income statement🇧🇷 This can occur both due to errors with incorrect values, as well as due to omission of data and even fraud.
The danger of this is that, in addition to taking traffic ticket, and sometimes for very expressive amounts, whoever is caught can even be indicted for tax crimes🇧🇷 Even when you type something wrong when declaring, or if you do it on purpose for profit, you will risk getting caught. And each year, the RFB updates itself to ensure a better and more efficient inspection model.
However, recently the RFB launched a very explanatory webinar, as its function, contrary to what was preached, is supervise to protect Brazilian jobs and companies, helping to also prevent smuggling into the country. The recent work of the fiscal network seeks to give yet another opportunity for companies settle your tax debts. Check out the full webinar below:
What can be done to avoid the tax loop?
The importance of paying attention to regularizations was seen again in an operation carried out by the RFB this year, continuing what started in 2019 and R$ 1.34 billion in evasion were tracked. On the other hand, those who were in good standing, such as DIRF declarants, in the words of the Revenue itself, did not have any tax problems.
This year, 11,438 communications were sent across the country, and the RFB gave 3,365 companies the opportunity to resolve possible disputes without imposing fines, that is, another opportunity for companies to avoid the tax grid. Another 4492 companies that ignored the RFB alert, increased their debts by 75% with the fines applied.
You should already know that companies and individuals must inform the Federal Revenue of their financial transactions from a certain amount, as well as the income from each activity carried out or paid. In this process is where many companies omit or inform wrong data, almost always less expressive than it truly is, for pay less tax about income. In some cases, this can also be due to poor management within the business, of course.
Through specific tools, the Federal Revenue carries out operations, such as the one mentioned above, to verify the consistency of the information declared by legal entities and individuals🇧🇷 These operations are carried out periodically and for different purposes, therefore, it is essential that companies are always regularized because if they don't fall into one of the tax nets, they can fall into another. And so on.
When individuals fall into the fiscal mesh, they receive a notification it is a term to adjust and correct what is requested, if it is not taken into account, in addition to the tax that is no longer declared, the person will be booked and you will have to pay more 75% of the value and the fees. in cases of legal person, notifications are also sent to those responsible, what changes are the fines, which can reach up to 225% of the value, and if the process goes ahead, they can be accused of tax evasion. For these reasons, the accounting area of companies must always be very attentive to regularizations.
It is important that companies carefully take care of the deadlines stipulated by the Federal Revenue for the fulfillment of ancillary obligations and to deliver the declarations. This year, the delivery of income tax and DIRF, for example, has already passed. But the delivery of the ECF has been extended and can be done until the 30th of September. Stay tuned!
Below you can see an example of how the notices for regularization look like:

What to do if you fall into the tax loop?
If you fell into the tax grid for reasons of errors in filling or data omission in your statements, you can make a correction to correct errors🇧🇷 To do so, you can present documents prove that the information provided is correct and send it again for analysis. Later, if the RFB verifies that it is duly filled in, you will leave the tax grid and will be free of pending issues with the Revenue.
For this reason, it is also important that the company has all the documents saved, because in case of any problem, they are the ones who can prove anything.
